Sedona, Arizona is home to many things, indiginous wildlife, snow capped mountains, extensive hiking trails, fresh mountain air, and some of the best restaurant fare in the state! One particular eatery that comes to mind when thinking of the best restaurants in Sedona is the Sound Bites Grill.
The Best Patio Seating in Sedona
The Sound Bites Grill is a lively, scenic grill and pub style restaurant located in the western desert regions of beautiful Sedona. It’s a desert oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the city, with amazing food and powerhouse live entertainment!
This is a place where families, friends, couples, and music fans can come together for an incredible evening of delicious food, cocktails, and rock n’ roll. When you enter the building, you’ll be greeted by the sounds of guitar strings and bass, colorful lights, and a comfortable seating arrangement. On the walls are portraits of some of the greatest musicians of all time including Ozzy Osbourne, David Bowie and Michael Jackson. There are also plenty of framed photos of the local talent that has stepped onto the stage of the Sound Bites Grill. Autographed guitars line the walls, alongside their certificates of authenticity.
Now let’s talk about the cuisine. I hope you came hungry, because the Sound Bites Grill menu is an absolute dream! If it’s lunch time, start off your meal with some Lobster and Crab Nachos (lobster/crab meat served on homestyle nachos with cheese sauce, pico de gallo, and chunky guac!) or their famous Ringo’s Riblets (a small portion of succulent baby back ribs). If salad is more your speed, then take a chance on the SBG House Salad, made with mixed greens, arugula, cherry tomatoes, carrots, tropical melon salsa, and finished off with a miso vinaigrette. If you’re not feeling that adventurous, then you can order a classic cobb salad or caesar salad to start you off.
For your main course, sink your teeth into the mouthwatering Johnny Cash Burger, made with an 8 oz Harris Ranch beef patty cooked to perfection, bacon, roasted green chili, cheddar cheese, smoked gouda, and your choice of a side (fries or coleslaw). Perhaps you’d like some surf and turf? You’re in luck because there’s main lobster on the menu! Pair a maine lobster with a cut of filet mignon, topped off with butter and lemon! Oh, and don’t forget to try the lobster mac n cheese!
Is it dinner time already? Let’s get into the good stuff. The Sound Bites Grill features most of the same choices as the lunch menu but with some added fare. More steak and seafood! Would you care for some jumbo Alaskan king crab legs? Perhaps a cut of fine filet mignon topped with blue cheese crumbles, butter or garlic butter? Maybe you want to try a grilled portobello mushroom stuffed with zucchini, squash, mushrooms, quinoa, drizzled with balsamic vinegar and encrusted with panko crumbs. Sounds delicious, yes?
For our vegan friends or vegetarians, there is also a plant based menu featuring squash and mushroom tacos, curried pad tai noodles with veggies, the beyond burger, and grilled vegetable and pineapple skewer, just to name a few!
If you came for drinks, prepare yourself for a difficult choice. The drink menu is HUGE. Aside from a mass collection of red and white wine and beer, there is also a list of specialty cocktails to choose from. While you watch the live band, sip on some Mermaid Water (Captain Morgan Spiced Rum, Malibu Coconut Rum, Blue Curacao, and pineapple juice), or a Sedona Blossom (Kettle One Grapefruit and Rose Vodka, Fever Tree Citrus Tonic, and a splash of OJ). And that’s just two of their delicious signature cocktails!
Don’t forget, every wednesday is “Wine Tasting Wednesday” from 5pm to 7pm with a $15 entry fee!
The Best Live Music in Sedona
Now that you’re satiated by delicious food and drinks, let’s discuss the live entertainment! If you want to snack on those lobster nachos with a great view and entertaining musicians, take a seat out on the patio! Live music from local musicians is performed here almost daily. Sound Bites Grill has their entertainment schedule posted on their website, so you can always check who’ll be playing before you visit. On Sundays, you can get a bite of brunch and listen to jazz! Mimosas anyone?
Indoors, the party goes on! Later in the evening, dance, rock out, or bob your head to the local talent as they take the stage! Rock N Roll, Country, Jazz, Blues and more can be found here, and it’s a guaranteed good time! Whether you came to watch and sip your pinot grigio, or came to cut a rug with your friends, you’ll find the entertainment, fun, and good food you were looking for!
Before we head out with our to-go box, lets not forget that the outdoor patio, aside from its dreamy Sedona sunset view, is pet friendly! Bring Bingo, Fido, and Spot along for the ride as you enjoy your shrimp scampi and chardonnay out on the patio.
Overall, we give the Sound Bites Grill a solid 5/5 star rating for a fun atmosphere, stellar live entertainment, mouthwatering menu choices from appetizers all the way to dessert, and an absolutely magical location against the mountainous desert botanica of Sedona, Arizona!
